It's quick & simple! All you need is an email address and a valid, government-issued identity document to prove your identity.
When you get started, Civic Wallet will ask you to enable backups prior to going through KYC onboarding. You will then complete a liveness test before verifying your email address and phone number. From there, you use the app to scan your identity document.
Tip: You must use the same email address that you used to sign up for the waitlist.
Once the photos are taken, the Civic Wallet App will take some time to check for several factors:
- That the document is authentic and valid
- A facial comparison between the image captured during the liveness test and the photo from your identity document
Once this is complete, the Civic Wallet App will confirm that you are verified.
In some cases, automatic verification may fail. When this happens more than once times, you will be sent through a manual verification process that may take up to 4 business days.
